Helwan under the patronage of His Grace Bishop Picenti, Bishop of Helwan & El-Maasara

The monastery’s life centers around the St. Barsoum Church. However, it purposefully serves the local, poverty-stricken community and congre- gation in the industrial zone consisting of cement & other factories close by. With the aim to improve the standard of living in the area, the services to the po- or consist of providing health care, educ- ation, vocational training, job opportuni- ties & all pastoral needs.

The monastery is on 20 acres of land.
Besides the hospibtal and educational buildings, there are nursing homes for the eldersly. Underprivileged and for handicapped orphans.
Ther are also workshops and hostels for both boys & girls in separate buildings. Overnight guests, a bookshop and cafeteria.
